Introduction
I’ve been on a real kick with quick summer projects, and this Crochet Watermelon Pattern is my latest little obsession. It’s a digital download that shows you how to make two versions: a chunky little whole watermelon or a half of watermelon.
Honestly, they're so small and don't eat up much yarn, so I usually just make both. I made one to hang from my car's rearview mirror, and I have a slice clipped onto my tote bag. It's the kind of project you can finish in an evening while half-watching a movie, which is my favorite kind.
It's also pretty easy to mess with the size if you want. Just add or take away a few rounds. Personally, I think they look best on the smaller side, but you could definitely make a bigger one if that's your thing.
A thought I had while making these... I ended up making a whole bunch and arranging them in a little pot on my desk, like a weird, cute watermelon plant. There's a picture of it if you want to see what I'm talking about.
