I've been staring at all the Jellycat-inspired crochet projects lately, and I just had to make my own version of that goofy little lemon. There's something about their slightly awkward, charming vibe that I just love. This crochet lemon pattern is for anyone else who gets it.

Personally, I reach for 5-ply yarn for toys like this. It gives you that soft, dense fabric that feels good to squish, but you can still see your stitches clearly. It holds up pretty well, too, so your little lemon dude can handle being tossed on the couch or sitting on your desk without getting all misshapen.

The best part, I think, are the legs. I can never decide if I want them short and stubby or long and dangly, so I just made the pattern adjustable. You can literally just add or subtract rounds to get the look you're going for. It's a small thing, but it lets you give each one a bit of a different personality.
